Blümchen/Flowers

Ich hatte mal wieder Lust auf Häkeln, aber mir ist es immer zu umständlich die Anleitungen zu lesen, oder sie sind gerade nicht griffbereit.  Da häkle ich dann einfach frei Schnauze.

 I felt like doing some crochet work, but I'm too impatient to bother with patterns, or they are not to hand just when I want to get cracking.  So I just make it up as I go along.

Leckeres Öl/Delicious Oil

 Es sind noch so viele Kräuter im Garten und da habe ich mal noch Öl mit Kräutern angesetzt.

There are still a lot of herbs in the garden, so I decided to flavour some oil with it.

 Pesto habe ich schon vor einiger Zeit gemacht und Kräuter eingefroren und getrocknet auch schon.

I made Pesto some while ago and also froze and dried herbs.

 

Heritage Day/Erbguttag

Einmal im Jahr wird bei uns ein Erbguttag veranstaltet mit verschiedenen Attraktionen.  Die Stadtmusik spielt im Garten und diverse Clubs haben Stände um ihr Können zu zeigen.  Das Museum ist natürlich offen, Kinder bekommen ihre Gesichter angemalt und Punch and Judy sind auch dabei.

Once a year we have Heritage Day with a lot of entertainment.  The Town Band plays in the Memorial Gardens and all sorts of clubs have stalls to show their talent.  The museum is open, children get their faces painted and Punch and Judy are there too.

Komischerweise sind immer sehr viel Oldtimer da, die immer interessant sind.

There are always a lot of vintage cars which are fascinating.

 Irische Tänzer waren auch mit von der Partie und natürlich die Morris Dancers!

 There were also Irish dancers and of course the Morris Dancers!

 Dann fand ich einen Verein für Spinnen, Färben und Weben und da habe ich mich gleich für einen Webkurs angemeldet.  Eine Dame unterrichtet Spinnen und da ich ein antikes Spinnrad besitze werde ich bei ihr lernen.  Freue mich schon!

I also found an association of the spinners, weavers and dyers and I enroled for a few sessions to learn weaving.  One lady teaches spinning and since I own a beautiful antique spinning wheel I will finally be able to learn to use it.  Can't wait!

 

Apples!

 Unser Apfelbaum hat dieses Jahr soooo viele Äpfel.  Ich weiss schon bald nicht mehr was ich noch damit machen könnte!

Our apple tree has gone berserk this year and there are loads of apples.  I am running out of ideas what else I could make with them!

 Selbst Mann muß mithelfen.

 Even hubby has to help.

Kuchen und Strudel... Cake and Strudel...

Frilly

 Beim letzten Wolladen Besuch entdeckt - eigentlich ja keine Wolle, nur eine Spielerei!

 Discovered during my latest visit to the woolshop - it's not really wool, more a bit of fun!

Das ganze hat 6 Maschen und man strickt jedes dritte Loch.  Na ja, so richtig als stricken kann man das nicht bezeichnen.

There are only 6 stitches on the needle and you knit every third loop.  Well, you can't really call it knitting.

It's a lot of fun!

 

Rain, rain, rain....

 Da kriegt man ja echt die Krise!

 That's enough to drive anyone crazy!

 

Barefoot Gerbil in English

 I have started another blog - Barefoot Gerbil.

The subject matter is quite different.  It is about barefoot running, or running with minimalist footwear.

No, not jogging, running as we are intended to.

I would be very pleased if any of my existing readers would join me there.

So far I have recounted background information, but the training has actually started.

 Ich habe einen zweiten Blog angefangen - Barefoot Gerbil.  

Sollte von Euch treuen Lesern jemand Interesse daran haben mitzulesen würde ich mich sehr freuen, aber es gibt es ein Problem, dieser Blog ist nur in Englisch.

 BimbiPea hat ja allerlei Themen, aber Barefoot Gerbil läuft, barfuß oder mit minimalen Schuhen.  

Nein, nicht joggen, barfuß rennen.

Bis jetzt ist nur die Vorgeschichte beschrieben, aber das Training hat bereits begonnen!
